IBS 10-16 Psalm 1:2

"But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in His law doth he meditate day and night."
The Lord has been able to teach me so much during my time training and now being on the mission field as a serving intern. The biggest thing I was taught was how important and needed is time with the Lord every day. Day by day. The previous verse begins with the word blessed. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. This chapter in Psalms can be summed down to one verse and it's verse two. Verse one speaks of how blessed the man who does certain things will be. And speaks of the dangers of doing other things. Verse three says ,"and he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." The righteous man will be spiritually prosperous. James 5:16 says that the effectual fervent prayers of a righteous man availeth much. When we strive to get closer to the Lord we will. That's because He's never stopping to get closer to us. His children. There are two walks any believer can make, and that's the walk away from the Lord and the walk towards Him. Verse four and five of chapter one says much of the ungodly. How they will not be able to stand in the congregation of the righteous and how they will be like the chaff which the wind driveth away. It's sad, a man once said that this world is the closest a believer will get to hell, and the closest a sinner will get to heaven. Though we have full access to the Gospel of Christ, how do we use our time here on earth? The last verse says that the Lord knoweth the way do the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. Again, will a truly righteous man desire those things to be brought on the sinner? For an application I will make it a desire to memorize this chapter in Spanish. So that I will be able to share some truth with an unbelieving world.
