IBS 08-18-16 Ephesians 6:1 & Colossians 3:20 (KJV)
"Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.", "Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord."
These are two verses that have some of the similar meaning. However both still need to be interpreted in their own way. The similarity is children obeying their parents. It's simple and easy to understand and perhaps the most difficult thing to do as a child. According to the Bible it's the first commandment with promise. Why's it so hard to obey our parents? Why do I have trouble understanding the beauty of a submissive heart? We see next that it's all to be done in the Lord, and in all things. That goes to mean that we are meant to do all things, when Scripture allows, in the Lord. The power of the Lord should be our strength and we should do all things go as unto the Lord. Also when we obey in that manner we are pleasing to the Lord. Giving Him glory is as simple as obeying our parents. It's being a witness. For my application I will pray today for a more obedient heart.
